Aangan Restaurant

The Aangan Restaurant at #02-09/10 Excelsior Hotel & Shopping Centre serves authentic Indian and Bangladeshi Cuisine.

Among the three Indian Restaurants I have been to here in Singapore, this is for me, without a doubt, the best so far.

My friends Gaurav and Aditya, who originally hail from the northern part of India, have brought me here twice. They have come here more than a dozen times and they conclude that the quality of food and service is indeed excellent.

Gaurav is a vegetarian while Aditya, like I, happens to eat meat. So we are quite happy with the variety of food available to choose from, which includes rice & briani, tandoor, vegetables, dal, chicken, mutton and fish. That night, we had khadai paneer (vegetarian), mutton rogan josh (lamb), butter naan and butter tandoori roti (bread), chicken jelfareezi and papad with pudine ki chatni (peppermint sauce).

If you like spicy food, the menu offers you several choices. But if you prefer only a mild dash of spiciness like I do, either bring some Indian friends who know what to order or ask the friendly waiters for their recommendations.

During my first time to have dinner here, we were serenaded by three artists performing live Indian music.

The Excelsior Hotel & Shopping Centre is walking distance from the City Hall MRT station.Learn more about Aangan in their website: http://www.aangan.com.sg/
